CHROMIUM

Chromium is a chemical element (Cr) and hard metal with a high melting point. Examples of uses of chromium include:

• In-chrome plating, as alloy in stainless steel
• Dyes and paints (eg, emerald green, synthetic rubies, yellow for paint)
• Tanning of leather
• Chemical reagent used in cleaning laboratory glassware
• As anti-corrosive in drilling mud’s
• Gasoline additive
